Javier Iguacel
President and CEO
Petroleum Engineer, graduated from ITBA with a diploma and medal of honor, and has a postgraduate degree in management development from IAE at Universidad Austral. He began his career as a production engineer at YPF, and then worked as a reservoir engineer at Pérez Companc. Later, he assumed strategic roles at Pluspetrol, where he was project manager, Country Manager and Vice President, participating in operations throughout Latin America and Africa. During his tenure, he led the acquisition and general management of an exploratory project in Africa, which became the first and only discovery by a Latin American company on the continent, achieving its development and putting into production.
He was also one of the leaders in the private sector of the development of Vaca Muerta, starting with Pluspetrol the first horizontal wells and the purchase of strategic assets such as La Calera, one of the main Gas and Oil assets in the region, in addition to other strategic operations such as the purchase of Bajada del Palo Este and Oeste, Coirón and other blocks, which were later sold to Vista Energy.
In the public sector, he served as the Nation's Minister of Energy, where he promoted the reactivation of gas exports between Argentina and Chile and designed a plan for the Oil & Gas industry to reach export levels similar to the agro-industrial sector. In addition, he successfully awarded the Offshore round for Deep Water, attracting major global companies to invest in Argentina, and designed key projects for the country's energy infrastructure, such as the Saliqueló-Tratayén gas pipeline and the reversal of the Northern Gas Pipeline. Throughout his career, he has resided in Malargüe (Mendoza), Rincón de los Sauces (Neuquén) and Luanda (Angola), developing a global vision of the energy business and consolidating his leadership in the industry.
Our name
BENTIA = BLESSED LAND
Bentia, a name that reflects our deep connection with the land we inhabit and the commitment we feel towards it. At the root of our name is the meaning of “blessed land”, a recognition of the richness and abundance offered by the natural environment in which we operate.
The name Bentia symbolizes our admiration for the earth and our purpose to develop its resources responsibly and respectfully. Every aspect of our company is inspired by this vision, working to preserve and enrich our land while providing energy solutions that benefit society.
